Pet portrait - Oil Painting

A new offering for me... I have painted quite a few people (even being selected as a finalist in a few prestigious art prizes) and I've decided to start painting pets on a commission basis.

I will work from one of your favourite photographs and we will consult to help you choose the best for the purpose of a portrait. Backgrounds will be blocked in depending on what I think would look best aesthetically or if you have a specific colour in mind to suit your decor.

Please note: The beach background in the product example is a personal choice as this is a portrait of my dog, Tigsy, and that beach was special to him. If you do want to include a simple background, it may be possible... but let's discuss it over email. My email is [email protected]

SPECIFICATIONS:

Technique: I will be painting mostly Alla Prima (wet on wet) so the beautiful brushstrokes remain obvious in the final painting. I find this style gives the painting a lot of life and character.

Materials: Artist quality oil paint on a 30.5cm x 30.5cm stretched canvas. I will apply a light coating of retouch varnish prior to handover once the painting is dry. Because of the nature and drying time of oil paint, it may take 2 weeks to a month or more for your painting to dry and be able to be varnished. If you have time constraints (e.g. the painting is a gift) please get in touch to discuss, I may be able to varnish at a later date or skip varnishing altogether.

Collection of your portrait where possible is highly encouraged. If you're able to collect it in person from my studio in Ferny Hills (Brisbane, Queensland) please select the 'Portrait collected from my Studio' from the dropdown options below. If postage is required, I will re-confirm your shipping address prior to mailing your finished painting.
